Adventures in the PUMPKIN PATCH!!!

As you can see from the pictures my family & I went to the pumpkin patch Sunday afternoon. Most people go to the grocery store for their pumpkin. I just don't think that much fun for a family. We enjoy going to a farm & spending the afternoon picking out just the right pumpkins. We don't get out as a family very often so it's a nice time for us. Pumpkin patches are very popular here. There's all kinds of them. We've been to most of the ones in our area. They all have the traditional corn mazes & pumpkin patches. Some patches you can walk to, some you take a hay ride to. There's even one in the area that you have to take a miniature train to! Some have extra activities like face painting, blue grass bands, petting zoos, horse rides, hay slides, and so on! A couple of places around here have vegi/gift shops. You can buy anything from your salad you are going to enjoy with your dinner to jams & aprons made in the state. They also have munchies!!! Oh how we love the munchies!! In the vegi/gift shops they make fresh apple donuts rolled in cinnamon sugar! Oh the smell alone satisfies you!! They are so good! Specially when you get them hot!! We also enjoy the hot apple cider or hot cocoa with them! Another one of our favs is the caramel apples!! The place we went to Sunday just had plain ones but another place we go to often rolls them in candies! I love the caramel apple rolled in M & M's! They are to die for!! You have like 4 or 5 choices of goodies for the ones that are rolled in candies! Which ever one we go to, we always have a blast!!
Josee & her favorite monkey in the pumpkin patch! Aren't they cute!!! You better say, "YES"!!! LOL!!!!
John carrying out the pumpkin John chose! It only weighed 75 pounds!!!
Josee & John sitting on their pumpkins waiting for the hay ride to come back around.
John & I in the pumpkin patch!!
It was so cool....the farmer let Josee drive the tractor back to the barns! There was about 12 of us in the back with our lives in the hands of our 8 year old!! She had a blast!!!!!
We got back safely!!

Yep....More Pics From My Trip!

Here's a shot of what's left over from one of the hangers that burned. They are just so huge!
Look at the truck and the telephone pole compared to the hanger things. Yep, we are ants!! LOL
One of the planes in at the museum.
I took a picture of this one because I thought the front of it was funny lookin'. It really does have an odd face on it. LOL
We had a great time on our trip. It was like a breath of fresh air! We didn't want to come home. The house we were in was brand new! Everything we needed was there. Debbi brought her fondue pots & we enjoyed one filled with cheeses for our meets and vegies and the other had chocolate in it of course for our fruits and pretzels and mini marshmallows! Oh it was so good! We also enjoyed the fillet Minoan I brought. Debbi also hit the liquor store before the trip. I think we had 5 things to choose from. We even made jello shots! By the time we left at least half the booze was gone. LOL We were good though. We didn't ever get "drunk". We just had it daily here and there. The jello shots were a great snack too! LOL
One day we just stayed at the house, except for a walk on the beach, we played lazy all day! It was great! We watched movies all day and crouched. Loved it!

More Pictures From My Trip!

There's something else that I've always loved.......trains! Since I was a kid I'd loved them. My dad and I had a train setup in the attic when I was young. I loved going up there with him and setting up our villages and tracks and so on. Anyway, at the Tillamook air museum they also had a bunch of old trains outside. I was in heaven! Thought I'd share them with you!
I love this old caboose! Isn't it great!
Some old engines that used to be used here too.
Old passenger cars.
This train was the coolest!! Isn't it sweet! I wanted to bring it home but it didn't fit in the mini van!! LOL
My friend Debbi using her super powers to stop the train!!!
Good job girl!!

I just had to take a picture of this auto shops sign! Ok....I have a sick mind! If you don't get it....I'm not going to explain it to you!! I just about died laughing when we drove by this sign! Anyway, the town was called, "Beaver".

I took a picture of this sign since I was with my friend Debbi!

Last Weekend.......

I can't believe a week has gone by and I haven't posted about my weekend away to the coast! This week was crazy so I didn't have much spare time to blog. I'm supposed to be doing house work right now but I'm taking a break to do this. LOL The house work can wait!

Below are some pictures from our trip. I couldn't load all the pics so I'll do another post.

We visited the air museum in Tillamook on our last day. It was a lot of fun. The air hanger is one used during WWII. There used to be 3 of them but one burned in the 40's and one burned in the 90's. The pictures just don't do this hanger justice. When you are next to the building you feel like an ant. They are just so massive!
The remaining hanger....the museum. Ya....huge!!!

We also visited the Tillamook Cheese factory. This is my favorite cheese in the entire world!! I was raised on it. I always enjoy visiting the factory. You can watch them making it. There's also a gift shop here that is just a ton of fun. They also sell their own products along with other food products from around the state. Yum! We bought a bunch of cheese.....of course it didn't stop there. We bought some mustards, crackers, smoked salmon, fudge.....ya we had too much fun in that place! It all looked so good! They also make ice cream.....oh it's so good! We had to stop and get some! I was good and only had one scoop....I could of had three!! LOL

We also went antiquing. Love antique shops! This is a sign to one of the stores in Garibaldi Cute little town.

Sunday we tried to go to the beach. It was soooooo windy!! It was raining so we make holes in some garbage bags we had and used them as rain coats. LOL An old coast trick I learned from my mom years ago.....when raincoats are forgotten....pull out the garbage bags! LOL This is my friend Debbi modeling her garbage bag at the very windy beach.

A photo of the ocean on that stormy day. We collected some shells and such and then headed back to the house. I think we lasted about 45 minutes on the beach. We were both raised on the beach so we are pretty used to this weather.
The only other living things we saw on the beach that day! No body else was brave enough for a walk in the wind! We did get some odd looks from the seagulls.....I bet they were wondering what the heck we were doing at the beach in that weather! LOL
Me at the cheese factory!! I love their cheese curds! My ex-husband turned me on to them years ago.
Debbi at the cheese factory. Mooooooo!

Spoiled Dogs!

Here's my hubby with his pampered princesses. Harley & Sauvo are just in heaven!

Look Forward to "My Time"

Image hosting
Wow, what a nice week I've had!! I'm feeling so refreshed & the weeks not over yet! I have until Monday to have "My Time".
My oldest is with his other dad for awhile. Probably a month or two.
My youngest son has been at, "Outdoor Camp" this week with his entire 6th grade class.
It's just been me & my daughter this week! Oh ya, hubby comes home in the evenings of course. LOL It's such a difference when there's only one child home. There's no sibling arguments. No, "Mommy, he hit me"!!! LOL The house was so peaceful this week is was weird! lol My youngest son will be home today. We'll get his laundry done & give him a big, "Hello".
Tomorrow I leave for a weekend getaway with by best friend that I grew up with since diapers.
We've rented a small house on the beach. You can go out the back door and step right onto the beach! I can't wait! I need the getaway! My son will spend the weekend with my folks & my daughter is going to be with one of her aunts. Hubby is working all weekend. The kids should have fun visiting their relatives. I'm sure they'll get spoiled rotten! My friend and I have made plans to play on the beach, chat, cook, chat, eat, chat, cook, chat, do nothin, chat, do nothin....should be great!! We may play tourist some too. It should be fun to just do what we want when we want and not worry about anything! After the year I've had, I need the break. I know I'll be better because of it and I know it will benefit my kids and my husband for mom to get a breath of fresh air.

Happy Birthday Honey!

As you can tell from the pictures below yesterday was my hubby's birthday. He's 36. He had a great time open his presents. He makes the best use out of all his wrapping paper as you can see! We had a nice dinner, birthday pie, & presents!
Yes, yes, this is my hubby. Crazy huh! LOL What a goof ball!
Here he is holding the stained glass piece I had made for him. A good friend of mine is just amazing with glass. She did a great job!! The piece is just beautiful when put in the window for the sunlight to come through it!

Happy birthday Honey!
